- Description
PLC Engineer
Salary—£51000 basic salary + Company Vehicle + paid overtime + bonus + good benefits (pension, holidays, healthcare, regular PLC automation training, laptop, phone etc). Total Earnings can be well above a Maintenance Engineer role, so if you are a Maintenance Engineer with a lot of PLC Automation skills, and you want more, this could be the move for you.
The Job:
Some Maintenance Engineering teams are very skilled in PLC automation fault finding. Others are not allowed to look at the PLC software- some teams have no skills in PLC fault finding at all.
10 years ago, my Control Systems customers started to get calls from manufacturers and factories to ask “Can we borrow one of your PLC Systems Engineers to come to our factory to find a fault using their PLC skills?” The calls started coming every week. This grew into a Division, more Engineers offering more PLC fault finding Support to more Manufacturing sites, with customers growing each year.
Customers who now rely on them to come to site to do the PLC fault finding and repairs on automated machinery of all types- packaging, processing, conveying, control panels, sensors, swapping out drives……..all from locating the fault by using the PLC as a tool. So the team needs to grow.
I am looking for 2 new PLC Engineers or PLC Maintenance Support Engineers:
- Based in the Midlands – East Midlands or West Midlands -- and a second one based in East Anglia
- Permanent Right to work in the UK
- Maintenance, Fault Finding, Diagnostics of PLC controlled systems and machinery
THE PERSON:
The person does not have to be a PLC programmer—a Maintenance Engineer who can fault find using a PLC / PLC software is ideal.
The company can give you extra training in different PLC’s, (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Rockwell Automation)…..whatever you need.
