PLC Automation Support Engineer - Midlands

Due to growth, new work, and new customers, I am searching for an extra PLC Control Customer Support Engineer to use their PLC fault finding skills to aid leading manufacturers to solve problems on highly automated factory sites.

Role Overview:

  • Responsibilities: PLC diagnostics, fault finding, maintaining automated machinery, modifying PLC control software, electrical maintenance of packaging and processing machinery, and site automation improvements.
  • Location: Based in Northamptonshire, Rugby, Coventry, Leicestershire to support manufacturers with high factory automation needs in the Midlands.

 

Join a growing team of PLC Maintenance, Support, and Controls Engineers. You’ll support factory sites by using your PLC skills to:

  • Find and rectify problems with automated machinery.
  • Upgrade PLC systems.
  • Work on PLC control software, drives, motors, controls, and sensors fault finding.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience as a Maintenance Engineer or site Automation Technician.
  • Worked with one of the main PLCs (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, S7, WinCC, Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation, Omron, Mitsubishi).
  • Skilled in using PLC logic as a diagnostic tool to locate and rectify faults in automated machinery.
  • Hands-on skills and an interest in fixing production machinery and upgrades.

Rewards:

  • Basic salary from £43,000 - £48,000.
  • 40-hour working week with paid overtime.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence essential.
